I make it a practice to pick up litter I find as I walk around the camp. Yes,
there are some who are inconsiderate and will toss a cigarette butt along the
trail, but there are those (Scouts and Scouters) who will do the same thing with
a candy bar wrapper.
Leaving the litter will only cause it to accumulate, and detract from the camp.
Picking it up will give you the satisfaction of having helped beautify the camp,
and know that your action has balanced that of the inconsiderate "litterer".
If an example is important, put the collected litter/butts in a bag at a point
where everyone entering the dining hall can see it, and know how it was
