I am currently working with Circle Ten Council on a new Train The Trainer
program for First Aid. This program will be staged in steps:
Review Local Policies, recommend changes.
We will be working closely with the Red Cross while developing this
program, and have been contacted by the National Office of both the Red
Cross, and the BSA. Both have expressed keen interest in our program.
This list could help the BSA, the ARC, and Circle 10 enormously. I need
some suggestions concerning
issues and training which need to be covered by this program in order to
address the special needs of outdoor leaders, and those venturing into
the Wilderness. If the members of this list could take just a few
minutes and write me a short note, expressing their opinions on this
matter, it would go a long way toward helping us tailor some training for
Scouts and scouters. The Red Cross and the National office have both
requested such suggestions from our group (circle 10). The ARC hopes to
develop a course for Outdoor leaders with a wilderness emphasis. The
National Office wants to consider this information for future training,
merit badge books, interface discussions with the ARC, etc.
Please send me a message at:
With Wilderness First Aid in the subject line. I will summarize the
suggestions, and repost them to the list.
