I am registered as a student for Wood Badge, SR-92, this Fall. Due to long
term unemployment (another long story), I may have to withdraw from this
However, like you, as an experienced Scouter already active in many
capacities in the District and Lodge, I am concerned about the time I will
be forced away from my unit. I can only stretch the hour per week so much,
more than others since I am single. I am also concerned since we will have
three students and one staff member from our troop in this course. It seems
almost inevitable the troop will suffer as a result.
Luckily we have great depth in our adult leadership. This may also force
the youth to take a more proactive role, which given the state of affairs,
as regards youth leadership, in our troop at present would be, IMO, a _very_
I have other concerns but they are not for airing in a public forum.
