I don't know who started this thread, but I will put in
my (shameless) plug ...
I have been using TroopMaster for about 4 years. It provides
me with nearly everything I need for tracking advancements.
I even transferred to another troop with it. All I had to do was
send my original disk back to TroopMaster and they supplied me
with a new version for the new troop. I also used it to track
payment of weekly dues and summer camp fees by making them just
another "event" that Scouts were marked against.
Some of the newest enhancements provide some of the reports that
I used to do by hand.
I also use Microsoft Word and Excel for various letters and
How much time do I put into using the computer for Scouts?
I record attendance and advancement on a weekly basis and
print out reports at the same time.
How's an hour a week sound?? :)
