None of the computer software I'm aware of branches out to track
advancement for Scouts with disabilities. This must be done
manually. Is anyone aware of a shareware program which will
recognized the alternate merit badges for the required ones?
For example: Photography for Communications, or Horsemanship
for Physical Fitness.
Incidently, a creative use of computers includes our use, in
the field, of a portable and a laser printer to make last
minute changes, and print them out, for our family campout/
Court of Honor - ran them off of a Izuzu Trooper.
I have used Troopmaster Plus 3.0 for more than three years. Once I got
everything verified and in the computer, I only spent about an hour per month
for about 30 Scouts and about the same number of adults. I currently use it
to run a merit badge roster for district of about 80 entries. It has never
failed me. I do dump the list into a text file and then reformat in
WordPerfect 6.0 (Win) to make the list the way I want to for distribution.
I used WordPerfect 6.0 for newsletters and Calendar Creator Plus for
calendars with the same results. Hope this helps your quest...YIS, Ralph
