Well said. To often people say they have a boy run troop, but it is really
the adults who are running the show and the boys are a front. The adults
claim the scouts learn more from them this way, but they are wrong. Scouts
learn more from a positive example from the adults and well planned
mini-discoveries, not Mr. Scoutmaster telling the scout how "back in my
day..." or "A better way...". Scouts learn from failure and success more
fully when it is there own and not filtered through the adults.
Any troop that is not boy run is not "Boy Scouts" but "Adult Scouters".
