You are to be congratulated on your completion of the Wood Badge course.
I have seen how much work it takes. But, you know something, if it took
as much time away from your troop as I have seen in EVERY SINGLE CASE,
thenI do not think it is worth it. I do not like the way Wood Badge is
run in my council. The people selected are the ones who should not take
time away from their units. Also, the attitude of most Wood Badgers
change when they hang those around the neck. I have seen the ceremonies
take over cracker barrels at camporees and take as much as thirty to
fourty-five minutes out of a roundtable session. Scouters show for the
beads and then they leave the roundtable and it's their own district meeting!
I hope not all councils and distrcits are liek this.
Just MY $.02 worth.
P.S. I am a very active and involved scouter and district member. And
it is not sour grapes.
