Can you expand on this- I have no idea what the above is, is it a rebate from
the individual stores or what?
We have done a Burger King Night each year, where we hand out the Pinewood
Derby cars to the cub scouts (the pack purchases the cars). The families buy
dinner, the boys get their cars kits and we get a check from Burger King
(several weeks later). This covers the cost of the car kits and could be done
at any fast food chain that has a fund raising program, McDonalds, Papa Ginos
etc. Just be sure to have a committee member at the check out to be sure the
register slips are put into the box, Burger King only counts qualified slips
from your group, not the total take for the hours you are there, other chains
may do it differently.
We do this on the first Wed. of December, Scouts that do not pick up their
kits get their's at the January den meetings, and the Derby is held in
Febuary. (Our B&G is in March - but that is another thread - along with when
do you award advancement)
