We at Troop 76 (Troop76@aol.com) of Brooklyn charges $75.00 annual dues.
This saves us the trouble of collecting money from the scouts weekly. It
includes all program and advancement material and new scouts are given a
neckerchief, slide, and handbook. Camping trips cost between $10 & 25
depending on the facilities we use, the number of nights we camp, and the
quality of the menu. We also impose a $50.00 transportation deposit for each
family which is refunded to the parents after they have driven on 2
qualifiying trips. Any short fall is made up by fund raising by the troop
An active scout who participates in all the camping trips and 2 weeks of
summer camp (which is $420.00) will spend approximately $800. for the year.
It's difficult to have an average fees structure because each troop is unique
in its availability of services, funding and how active the scout is.
