On the other hand, Daniel, DE/EEs that serve as Camp Directors or
Directors of Camping in larger camps, enhance their personal career
development. You know, even when they serve as Camp Director, they
still have to maintain their District or Exploring Division operation
as well. They just live at the Council's camp for the season plus two
weeks on either end instead of closer to you. They still have to
attend the staff meetings, still have to meet with new prospects
(though he or she may bring them out to camp instead of meeting with
them in their offices) and they still have to travel to Courts of
Honor and other District or Division business meetings as that
District's "executive secretary".
Service as a Camp Director or Associate Camp Director is part of the
requirements for the Professional Training Award. How else can the
professional train the volunteer Camp Director or Associate Camp
Director after their return from National Camping School?

Just remember that they don't like it either...but they need the
experience in order to be better professionals and trainers.
