I agree with Settumanque. I get an average of 20 calls a day at my
desk. Each is an interruption, as I have to answer the phone and
handle the situation. At about 10 minutes each of lost momentum and
dowwn time, it is hardly productive
Depending on what projects I may have due, I often chose to let all
my calls go to voice mail, and then schedule one hour to handle the
calls and the questions and problems. Normallly I can handle all the
calls, get all the answers in less than an hour! And they still get
my personal attention.
The hard ones to handle are the ones that leave a message to eh
effect of "Call me, I have a question" and then I call them and I
get the question, and then have to solve it and call them back. If
they had not been such Luddites to begin with I would have had their
answer whenI called them back the first time.....
Leave a detailed question and it wil work welll.....
