It sounds like you are doing a great job and crossing over 100% of your
Webelos is outstanding. This is the most critical time in maintaining
the involvement of each youth in scouting. If they are not exposed and
given the opportunity to join Boy Scouts they will not. Every person is
somewhat resistant to change but change is a fact of life. These boys
are faced with total program change, new leaders, new boys, new meeting
places etc. So much emphisis is placed on cross over for this reason.
Keep up the good work! And to your comment "What is Wrong With Boy
Scouts": The most recent figures I have seen in youth participation at
all levels points out that cubs have the greatest enrollment with a huge
drop in membership numbers for Webelos. This would suggest that we are
not doing a good job holding the interest of boys on the Cub Scout level
so that they will become Webelos.
