To the List-
I ask for your good luck wishes and support. Tonite I am attending a
meeting to re-start a Troop that has been defunct for about three years. I am
very excited to have been asked to be SM,after not being with a Troop since
last October. I miss the Scouts and the excitement! So,I add more to my "Hour a
week" ;-) If we get 5 or more boys, we are off and running...Of course we also
have a new number and Charter Organization, but we pay homage to the past (Now,
Troop 460; old, T 46) and look to the future. We have a Troop Committee in
place and some old Scouters to help. It's scary but I think I'm up to it. I'll
train the Scouts to run the troop and make sure that the Troop Cmte asks "How
can we help the scouts..."before they do anything. Onward and Upward!
I have been a quiet subscriber for the last few weeks (unusual, for me),
being busy with our Arrow of Light weekend, Spring Camp-o-ree, OA call-out,
etc. We have Spring Conclave upcoming and now, trying to restart a Troop. I
have been enjoying the threads on sewing (no pun intended), OA Elections, and
the new one on poisonous/iritating plants. I'm waiting for the wood-tick thread
(ha, ha...You are supposed to laugh here...) I save and file from every Digest.
Thanks for all the good info. In my new role, I'll be asking more questions
(Oh,my...he's talking and he can't shut up!). I'll let you know how the meeting
