I have received in my personal mail many beautiful messages about Mr. Imre
Tasi and his work with the Hungarian boys. I have given many of these
messages to his brother to translate and send to the boys in Hungary.
A number of people (both on the net and locally) asked if there was charity
or other organization identified to whom donations in Mr. Tasi's name could
be made. According to his brother, no such organization really exists. It
does not seem to be as big of a tradition to do this as it is here.
So, here's what we are going to do. If anyone would like to make a donation
in Mr. Tasi's name, our pack will accept the donations and then send them to
the Monsignior (sp?) of the local church (who also heads the orphanage) with
directions that the contributions be used for the benfit of all of Mr. Tasi's
boys. We cannot guarantee what exactly the donations will be used for.
However, Mr. Tasi's brother has met the Monsignior and is absolutely
convinced that this good man will honor our request to use the money for the
benefit of the boys only. It will be the last of many, many benefits Mr. Tasi
has given the boys.
Checks should be made payable to "PACK 160" and sent to

NOTE: This is not a formal fund so we <cannot> state that donations are tax
deductable. Our pack is just trying to facilitate the desires of some people
to contribute in the name of a great scouter.
