<<I THOUGHT I read the other day where someone said that you only have to be
registered for 1 yr to be eligilbe for Scout WB. Is this true or just a
touch of idle brain on my part?>>
I was told it was two years --- of course maybe that was just for me!!! LOL!
And Leader Basic Training, too... But I see, as I read further in this
digest that others explain the requirements have changed this year...
And as far as ticket items, in my class I saw things like establishing an
Explorer Post locally; establishing patrol method in a troop without it;
planning and conducting crossover ceremonies for the Webelos; encouraging a
Baden-Powell patrol in the troop; conducting JLT for troop and/or district;
planning and implementing a Webelos Woods Wisdom day; troop service projects
at camp or locally. And of course the one personal item I saw/heard about
most often was more personal/family time! Seems that learning to say no is a
very important lesson for many Scouters.... <grinning from ear to ear...>...
And while I'm here, for those who responded to my post about my new 1 hr/wk
job offer.....I'm taking the position of District Commissioner, and was
formally voted into that office at the dinner this week. I refuse to
surrender my ASM post at this time (my excuse is that I have WB ticket stuff
to finish!!), but I'm leaving that option open for the future and have begun
to recruit a person to replace me in the troop, just in case. Thanks,
everyone, for the input!!! I've saved all your letters, and hope to respond
to all of them personally....unless time continues to get away from me....
