I heartily second your recommendation of the movie "A Little Princess".
While it is probably 'a girl flick', it is also a father-daughter movie.
What struck me about the film was that it was such a great story, no special
effects, no gimmicks, just story. I had seen previous versions of this
movie on tv, many of you will remember the Shirely Temple version, but this
one was different, it may have been the Indian mysticism theme that runs
throughout the film.
I took my 9 year old daughter, my 5 1/2 year old daughter (who generally can
not sit still) and her 5 year old friend. They sat totally enchanted through
the whole film.
Skip the gimmicky, violent, movies that are designed to sell merchandise,
take your family to see "A Little Princess".
