First I want to say THANK YOU to all those who contributed to my request
for Scouts Own material. In all, I received well over a hundred
messages, filling 96 pages of text. I'm still going over them, trying
to arrange some order. My hope is to have a file ready soon for
uploading to a site. I tried to E-mail a thank-you to everyone, but
that became to overwhelming with my current work load. The Scouts Own is
this weekend (May 26-28), during our London (Ontario) Regional Camporee.
Now, for my next request, and I hope this isn't coming to late. (I've
been busy, trying to complete my Wood Badge Training) I will be setting
up a SCOUTING ON THE INTERNET display at the Camporee. I've just been
told that I won't be able to have phone access, YIKES! What I am asking
of you, is to take a minute (right now, if you can) and send off an E-
mail message for the Scouts/Scouters to see. I will be printing many of
them out with pointers to a world map, and others will be read from my
OFF-LINE MAIL READER on my LAP TOP. I will be collecting them from this
moment until Friday afternoon.
Who should write?? Everyone who can...especially those in far away
places (Looks good on the map) and the kids/Scouters all remember with
special fondness, a scouter that was with us for the past two years, who
is now back in OZ (ACT)...so I'm sure those would be extra special.
What to write??? Just tell us a little about yourself, where your from,
your Troop or Pack, and anything you might think would be of interest.
Maybe your interested in starting up some snail mail Pen Pals. This
would be a great opportunely to make a Troop or Pack connection. The
Scouts/ Scouters will be entering messages back, that I will upload on
I will also be grabbing as many WWWeb Pages as my disks can hold, to
show, as well as other goodies!
So if you could please, take that extra minute...
...send all those wonderful messages TO: firstname.lastname@example.org
