We have tried to find a standard syllabus for training unit committee
people, but it appears that in most areas training is limited to the basic
training for unit leaders; e.g. Cub Scout Leader Basic Training and
Scoutmaster Fundamentals. However, in some areas Commissioner staffs are
developing home-grown courses to bridge the gap in training. If your
District or Council does not have one of these, as them to consider it.
It may help to let them know that other Districts are conducting the
training and to share a course outline with them so that they know its not
all that hard to do. Below is a copy of the our District's Unit Committee
Training Course. You will note that its short and to the point.
