Our council has a training for Service Unit Chairs. I believe it is a
weekend, but I could be mistaken as I have not taken it. The other
service team positions have a four hour to 8 hour training, depending on
position. I know my wife has disappeared on Saturdays for training
several times, but then she is an Interviewer, School Organizer and a
Consultant this year.
I am the Registrar and the outgoing Registrar "trained" me. He gave me
15 minutes on his way out the door to a business trip. The official
training is 4 hours for this and positions other than Service Unit Chair
and is held twice a year.
We have two Service Unit co-chairs this year, and they have asked for a
third for next year. Their idea is to have the new person(s) go to
training and get a year "on the job" exposure before taking over.
