Deb Williams writes about "general life questions" asked at an Eagle BOR.
While questions about what the youth intends on doing with his life and how
being an Eagle might affect that are appropriate, those such as "gays in
the military" are way out of bounds. The person who asked them should be
taken aside and politely told the purpose of the BOR.
Also, I question the scoutmaster's "sitting in." It's probably OK as long
as he or she does not participate. Our advancement guidelines specifically
prohibit any scoutmaster or asm from being part of an Eagle BOR. Your
scoutmaster acted appropriately (by remaining silent) in my opinion.
