Several years ago I was Scoutmaster of Rocky Mountain Scout Camp,
the program for 12-year olds whose parents were at PTC. At the time,
the program was a week-long overnight camp, but in 1991 it was
changed to a day program.
We didn't work on specific merit badges, but focused on basic camping
skills. All activities were done by patrol (cooking, hikes, etc.).
Each boy was cook for at least 3 meals, we had an overnight hike
to Lover's Leap meadow (1.5 miles in & out), and a 5-mile hike over
the Tooth of Time. At the end of the week, each boy was given a
letter for his home Scoutmaster detailing the activities in which
he had participated.
I'm not sure how much the program has changed, since it is no longer
an overnight camp.
(and a good ol' Bobwhite too...)
