We just finished a Project WILD workshop. This was a first for the BSA in our
area. GSUSA has been using the program in our area for some time.
The participants were equally divided between cub level and boy scout level.
We had several MBC's for Environmental Science, Wildlife and Soil
Conservation, etc. attend. All thought the program will be very helpful in
their unit programs.
Handouts were fantastic. We got the workshop book (386 pages), Helping
Wildlife: Working With Nature, Louisiana Conservationist magazine, SPLASH
calender, correlation to Wolf and Bear achievements,. Webelos activity
badges, BS rank requirements and merit badge requirements.
I had been working very hard the last three months to get participants
because the minimum workshop size was eight. At the end of the workshop, they
wanted to know when I was scheduling Aquatic WILD. Maybe you can teach an
old dog a few new tricks!
