Well I see I have managed to get everyone thinking and after seeing so
many of you defend your position as promoting diversity in religious
belief: I offer the following comment - My initial comment has nothing to
do with semantics ie, what word to use for GOD. My comment is regarding
spirituality, which I believe that if you give a youth a chance to say
the oath and say nothing when referencing "GOD" is lowering your
standards. This is not promoting spirituality and in this day and age
not helping our youth find their morals and ethics. BSA policy is to say
"GOD" and when confronted by agnostics has won in court and in the eyes
of the Lord.
I challenge each of you leaders to promote spirituality in your
organizations there is an obvious reason why church's sponsor so many
Troops and Packs.
Keep up the good work, we are impacting the future.
