When I was at Matagamon Canoe Base in Maine as a youth (Katahdin Area
Council) in 1967, we followed breakfasts similar to yours.
For lunches, we baked bread the night before in reflector ovens. Reflector
ovens are nice on a canoe trip due to the fact that they
pack flat and weigh little. All our food was carried in Army surplus
ammo containers, which are found to be raccoon proof.
