One of the things I miss about not getting out into the woods more
than once in a blue moon is not getting the opportunity to do the outdoor
cooking. My happy hunting grounds in Central PA afford me excellent
opportunities to build stone ovens and do some experimenting, and I am
interested in any hot new ideas for cooking. I've done the basics, bread,
pies, tortillas, but I'm looking for new stuff, something that will blow
away the through hikers on the A-Trail.
Also, does anyone know of a rugged remote thermometer? I would like
to be able to keep an eye on my temperature without "opening" the oven. Has
anybody seen anything that would solve this for me? Thanks in advance!
