A good point to remember. Some of us have forgotten that Boy Scouting
and Girl Guiding/Scouting is a world wide movement and as such is in
non-Christian countries. On Thinking Day, I have seen translations of
the Girl Scout promise from other countries and guess what? They don't
all use the word God for the supreme being. The usually have a word for
the supreme being that is used by the majority religion in that country.
All GSUSA has done is to allow that practice on a personal level. Since
we are the most ethnically diverse country in the world, we need to be
sensitive to religious differences.
