Looking for Troop in Albany, NY

We are about to lose a very enthusiastic young Scout from our Troop as a
result of his family's impending move to Albany, NY. His dad is up there
house-hunting this week, so they are not totally certain just where they
will end up living in the area. Nevertheless, we would like to help find a
new Scouting home for this family.
Joshua's mom has been an active Cub Scout Leader, and his dad has gone on
some of our backpacking trips and other activities to help out. (Dad keeps
up very well, too...)
We are looking for a Troop that has a good programme for new Scouts, as well
as a challenging programme for older Scouts (good retention in crossing
over from Cubs to Scouts, as well as a significant number of older Scouts
remaining active in the programme in the face of all the other competing
teenager activities), so I guess we are looking for a Troop that emphasises
effective leadership from the Scouts themselves, with a good depth of
support for them from the adult Leadership and Committee Teams.
The family will be leaving our area in late June, so Josh may need to take
advantage of the Troop's flexibility in terms of being "fit in" to the
Troop's summer camp this year.
Are you interested in gaining this keen family in your Troop? If so, please
e-mail a reply to me at:
I will forward your e-mail on to the family so that they can get back in
touch with you.
