Computer Related Merit Badges Worldwide

I have a request for the Net.
Last time I did so I was happy to receive a very big response (so big I
am still compiling the results..).
Anyway, to current business.
My association, AGESCI, is discussing changing the list of available
Merit Badges, both in the Cub section and in the Scout section (we don't
have MBs in the next section, Rovers).
I would like to show what is being done abroad, so that we can 'compare
notes', avoid any pitfalls, and so on.
What I am interested is Merit Badges (or Activity Badges, or Activity
Pins, or whatever is the name you give them) related to one or more of
the following topics:
I would like to know if your own Scout Association has any Merit Badges
about the previous themes, and for which sections.
If possible, I would like to know for each merit badge:
- are there 'fixed' requirements (if so, which ones), or do the
ScoutMaster/CubMaster/Patrol Leader Council set them for each scout/cub?
- for how long has your association had such a badge?
- do Scouts who get that badge usually put it to good use for the
benefit of the troop? In which ways?
- has there been any resistence to the introduction of this badge by
people who feel that computers or modems have nothing to do with
scouting? How were they overcome?
I would also like to know from countries who *don't* have any such
badges, or who have them just for some section.
Feel free to make any comments. Especially useful would be any "if we
were introducing it now we would do it differently" comment...
