In Pack 383 we make a big deal out of graduation or crossover from rank to rank.
We reserve our local camp and have a formal campfire with magic starters, ski
ts, songs, indian visits, the whole ball of wax. Anyway, the first year I ran
into the situation of how do we recognize those boys who are going from 1st ye
ar Webelos to 2nd year Webelos. The idea we came up with was to make and prese
nt them with a new neckerchief slide reflective of them being a member of the W
ebelos Tribe. We make the Safety-Pin beaded headress type slide. They're fair
ly simple to construct and the boys like them alot.
This year we'll have 32 boys going from 1st year webelos to 2nd year webelos.
