Hi, I am Ed Henderson, General Manager of the Camp Thunder Virtual Country
Store - Online at Thunder Scout Reservation in the Flint River Council. Our
virtual store here on the Internet is just one of the ways our summer camp
Trading Post operation is different, just like our approach to summer camping
We not only strive to meet the needs of our more than 5,000 campers, Cub
Scouts, OA Brothers, Scoutleaders, Soccer Players, Mountain Bike Racers and
other visitors who will visit our two Trading Posts of the Thunder Scout
Reservation of Central Georgia during the summer of 1995, but we have adopted
a mission statement that compels us to seek out the best prices, sources, and
values for the Scouting Community we serve. Our efforts have lead us to
canvas the country, searching through hundreds of sources to find the very
best products, services, and supplies for our camp. Among our finds are
dozens of wonderful books, games, and other scouting items which you won't
find in the Scouting Catalog. We also are publishing and producing many
other fine scouting products you won't find anywhere else.
As an outgrowth of this effort, we have established the Virtual Country Store
- On Line to better meet the needs of scout leaders from around the country
who have written our camp in search of various products.
This is an initial message to you. If you do not wish to receive further
E-Mail from us, just drop us a line, otherwise about four times a year we
will be sending you an E-Mail of some of our best selections.
Here are some below:
*** Creative Court of Honor ***
By Glen C. Parker
$ 6.00 + $.75 P&H
A 47 page paperback guide with excellent settings, suggestions, and sample
Court of Honor plans. The book is quite readable and is organized into
sections including PLANNING (Keys to a successful COH, Things to Avoid,
Scheduling & Planning), CHECKLIST, PROGRAMS, PHYSICAL ARRANGEMENTS & PROPS,
SCRIPTS (including Campfire and indoor settings as well as several excellent
Eagle COH scripts).
*** Canyon Trails Campfire Companion (2 Book Set)***
By William J. Kline
$ 6.50 + $1.00 P&H EACH
This two book set comes from the Blackhawk Council and is one of the best all
round Scouting Campfire Guides we have ever seen. Both books not only
contain great tips for the planning, and leading of a campfire but chapters
on Openings, Cheers & Yells, Run Ons, Skits, Games & Stunts, Stories, and of
course Songs. Many of these are scouting specific and contain excellent
materials for both cub & Boy Scouting.
*** The C.P.R. Rap Cassette Tape ***
By Dr. William G. Cutts, Jr.
$ 8.00 + $.75 P&H
Featured in the April 1993 issue of Scouting Magazine, this wonderful
cassette tape, produced by a Scoutmaster - Physician, is a must for any long
trip. Every time my scouts pile in the vans, CPR RAP is at the top of their
requests. As a Red Cross CPR Instructor myself I can tell you that it fully
covers each step of the process in a fun, enjoyable way that the Scouts are
sure to listen to again and again.
*** The Ultimate Scout Trivia Game ***
By Gene Claypool
$25.00 + $3.00 P&H
Do you like playing Trivial Pursuit? Here is the Scouting Version of this
fun board game with more than 2,000 Scouting related questions. Created in
the late 1980's this fun game features a camp with "Program Areas" that each
player must visit, answering questions along the way and earning beads to
place on his Flag Pole. The stops include such places as "Up the Ladder"
(Questions on Advancement, "Take the Lead" (Questions on Leadership), "In
Trouble Again" (Questions on First Aid & Aquatics), etc. When finished the
scout must travel to the Board of Review. I have used this game as a part of
our summer camp program at three Georgia summer camps with great results.

$17.00 + $2.50 P&H
