There is an elementary school principle here in our town who is retiring.
Pack 132 uses the school for our Pack meetings. We have been approached by
a group, a subcommittee of the PTO I think, who want us to stand up and
present this fellow a plaque (or other recognition) for his "support" of
Scouting over the years.
My first reaction was to wonder just what "support" he has provided, since
no one can ever remember his attendance at any Pack function, or even any
communication from him, especially last fall when the behavior of some our
Cubs should have gotten his attention. Then I concluded that what the heck,
if it will engender a bit of good will, what's the cost of a suitable plaque
with some engraving, about $35? I suppose we can afford that. Now I'm
trying to work up some words for the plaque.
Anyone have any help to offer with the words?
