I always like to think of time zones in terms of time of day. i.e., if I
send a message to Finland at noon, and it is delivered immediately, they
will be getting the message at 7 p.m. (if we are 5 hours west and they are 2
hours east of GMT) Somehow that's easier than just saying 7 hours difference.
