Training for the Scoutmaster

I am the Troop Committee Chairman for Troop 1250 in Laurel, Maryland. I
read with interest the note on forcing the Scoutmaster to get training or get
out. I have one short statement to make about that, a question, actually?
Is the purpose of the scouting movement to get badges? Or is it to train
If this recalcitrant scoutmaster is keeping you from getting the quality unit
award, that is no big thing. The award was created to get the units
rechartered on time and make the paperwork flow nicely for your council. It
is not a tremendous award for all the hard work the boys put in to keeping
their organization going.
