I would like to add that, when applying for veteranrecognition, most Councils
want to see your registration cards as a confirmation that:
a) you really put in the time, and
b) you are not duplicating multiple registrations.
While it is true that a Scout (and, by extension, a Scouter) is Trustworthy,
sometimes a misunderstanding of how the Veteran Recognition program works
leads to confusion. The staff at Council level are really there to help, and
keep the applications straight.
And, lest you think that the local Council keeps good records, think again.
The recent council mergers, as well as fire, flood & famine :)
tend to take their toll on any records that the local council has. So...
make sure that you keep all of those little cards that you get each year,
both for registraion and training completion.
Make sure you tell your boys (and girls, too:).
