Uniform Jackpot Goldmine!

I have followed the back & forth on this forum about Uniforms, including
cost, etc. and had to share my own success story. One of my committee
members is a self professed Flea Market junkie. When I laid out the need,
and how much new uniforms cost she called me back three weeks later with the
shocking news that she had snapped up about 20 uniforms at various garage
sells, etc. and had found one dealer with more than 70 uniform parts that
they were willing to part with at $3.50 each! Needless to say I hurried on
over with troop checkbook in tow and now feel like I have won the lottery.
I think I was actually glowing with pride at the last Camporee with my troop
of 37 in 100% uniform (even the new scouts). Most already had some patches
on the uniforms they got and a few (I am told) are the kind that O.A. Patch
Collectors go nuts over. My SPL tells me the scouts seem to behave better
and attendance is up because of the uniform policy. I also had scouts more
willing to exchange uniforms they had outgrown if they knew they could trade
up to a newer one.
Point is: This is an excellent assignment for a troop self confessed flea
market junkie parent, a parent that every troop probably has at least one of.
