Chuck brings up the problem of "Mother's Pins" and where they are to be worn.
>This lady is a Scouter, and has 5 boys in Boy Scouts. She has the
>"Mother's Pins" for All the Boys ranks. However, she has been told
>that they are for "_civilian_" wear only, _Not_ to be worn on the
>uniform. She would like to know _where_, and _how_ she can legally
>wear these pins on a uniform, as she want's to show her boys that
>she is proud of them.
In my understanding there is not a *legal* way these can be worn on the
uniform, and I can really sympathize with her problem. My son is an Eagle
Scout and I am very proud of that. Since I wear my uniform to most functions
where I would want to wear my Eagle Mother's pin, this is a dilemna because
as a Commissioner and Wood Badge staffer I try to set a good example in
uniforming. Still, like a lot of Scouter Moms I will sometimes wear the
Mother's Pin on my uniform, even though I know it is not correct to do so.
In some packs and troops they give a Mother's ribbon to put these pins on,
but still there is no allowance for these to be worn on the uniform. Does
anyone have a good solution for this ?
