We have a way our mothers can wear their son's pins--not on their uniform,
but on a jacket, dress, or any other non-uniform upper body covering <g>.
We take the BSA jacket patch, attach two red ribbon streamers (about 4 inches
long to the back of the patch with hot glue, & glue a broach pin to the back.
This way the mom can put her pins on the streamers and pin the whole thing on
her outfit (except uniform shirt). This is mobile, lets her show her son(s)
rank advancement and identify the pins as BSA, too. Since I have two boys,
I use one streamer for each boy. I always get complements when I wear it, too!
Our troop furnishes the pin holder (guess I need a catchy name for the thing!)
to the boy's mothers as each boy receives his first rank pin in the troop.
If your boys "pin" their mothers as part of the COH ceremony it also makes for
less awkward moments. :)
O BSA jacket patch <----- kinda looks like this
