"Back when I was a Pack Committee Chairman" (gee, I love being an
old-timer now <g>)...we didn't actively recruit Tiger Cubs in the spring.
One year, a boy who happened to be a member of our chartered
organization's Sunday School couldn't *wait* to be a Cub Scout, so the
very last day of Kindergarten, we signed him up as a Tiger :-) He came to
our three Summertime Pack events and, when September rolled around, had a
few more Tigers to actually meet with.
If you really have an active Tiger program, though, there are more than
enough ideas in the packet to cover the summer, and you can always buy
more Tiger paw iron-ons for their shirts. Try picnics at historic sites,
mini bike rodeos on the school playground (get the school's permission
before they close this year), maybe running through a sprinkler in a Tiger
Partner's yard along with a covered-dish picnic. KISMIF.
