The foil dinners are very simple.
meat, fish or chicken (not too thick)
salt and pepper
Lay out a sheet of foil, place the meat on the foil, cover with sliced
onion, sliced carrots and sliced potato. salt and pepper to taste.
Fold the foil over and roll up the sides to keep the moisture in. Before
closing the last side add about 2 tablespoons of water to help steam the
Lay the packet meat side down on a bed of coals.
It helps if everyone prepares their packet before putting any on the
coals. Put them all on at the same time, then you can check for doneness
by checking one of the packets. If it is done, they are all done. (20
minutes more or less)
A great foil dessert is banana boats, the recipe has been posted a few
times, but if you have not seen it before here it is again.
You will need
chocolate chips (we prefer the mint flavor)
lay out a piece of foil.
Slice lengthwise to open a banana keeping the underside of the peel
intact. Open just enough to be able to slice up the banana inside. Add
mini marshmallows and mint chocolate chips to the chopped banana and wrap
in foil. Place this on the coals as you are removing the foil dinners,
they will be ready by the time you have eaten your dinner (maybe sooner).
