In 1990 when I worked out there, there was a single fax machine at the
administration office. However, it was not connected to a dedicated
phone line, meaning that in order to get it, you called the switchboard
(voice call to the main number) and asked to be connected to the fax
machine. If this is still the case, using the fax machine would be even
harder than the phone.
Considering that all PBX's (Phone company lingo for Private Branch
Exchanges, usually business switchboards) needed to be upgraded /
reprogrammed this winter to accomidate new area codes, they may have
adjusted this when upgrading / reprogramming the switchboard. I can't
