I redialed 8431 times (computer did it) and got through. Explorer Post 995
got 22 slots on July 3, 1996. I thought this was a much better system
than the previous call up or the lottery. The people at the other end knew
nothing at all about scouting and when I told the person answering that I
was calling for Explorer Post 995 I was asked if that was a Troop or Post?
But were very efficient and when I told the operator that I would take any
date after July 3, I was told that they were able to give me July 3 and were
confirming Post 995 for July 3 on the phone. They have a computer system
to do the job in front of them. It was very good in my opinion. I am
really looking forward to this. Shann and I are taking a co-ed crew
(I am sure it is a first for George Washington Council).
GOOD LUCK! To all of you. Now, I can only get this much luck on Wednesday!
