Boy, this sounds like a hot topic. However...
1. I think ten miles is too far for a Cub Scout Pack. Just my
opinion, but that's what I think. (Let's hope the list
doesn't chase me off for expressing an opinion!)
2. Even in a Boy Scout troop, the rule is to stick together.
Until your other leader can understand this, don't let that
leader participate in hikes. I know this is harsh, but only
by sticking together can the buddy system and all the mutual
support work as it should.
