My troop purchased 6 used canoes about 10 years ago. Our council was
selling off retired canoes that had been replaced by new ones. The cost
averaged about $66/canoe. We had a local welder donate some time doing
heli-arc welding to make them water tight again. Not one canoe has a
straight keel, but they work fine for us.
Another route is to check with canoe outfitters for used canoes. Out

Coleman canoes. The campus recreation department here at NIU buys
coleman canoes because even the frat boys can't destroy them.
