den chief training

In response to the request by Don Gentry for information on den chief
training, we have been conducting a day long den chief training course
in conjunction with the Cub Leader's Pow Wow for the last several
years. As a part of this, we do have a Pow Wow session with Den
leaders and tell them how to use the den chiefs, and what we have just
finished telling the den chiefs to expect from their den leaders.
We are planning to try a slightly shorter version of den chief
training one evening each week at our Council summer camps this year.
The logic here is our Pow Wow is usually in November and the boys have
been with a den for several months, or have held off getting with a
den for several months to take training first. If we train them in
June and July, they will be ready when cubbing kicks off in late
August and September to run with a den.
My curricular material is currently packed away preparatory for a move
in late May, but if I can locate it easily, I'll send you a copy snail

of 10 Class 51 Councils in Southern Region. Council has around 120
units, 3 Districts and we qualified for Quality Council last year.
