Cokies in our council are sold in the Fall, and amazingly we had complaints
about our incentive program also.
>1) How much are the cookies in your council and which baker did
Cookies are $2.50 / box, however it looks like they may be going up to $3.00
a box next year. To help make up the deficit forcasted by loss of some of
our United Way money. We use ABC.
>2) What are the incentives the girls are offered and what does it
>take to earn them
1-49 boxes : Partcipation Certificate
50-74 boxes: patch
75-99 boxes: patch (but different)
100-149 boxes: patch (but different again)
150-199 boxes: Super patch and a small Koala or a fanny pack. Or for Cadettes
and Seniors a $5.00 coupon for Council event or towards a
purchase from the Council store.
200 and over boxes: Super patch and a large Koala or a T-shirt. Or for
Cadettes and Seniors a $10.00 coupon.
The complaints were that the coupons were only available to the older girls.
Suggsetions were made to drop the incentives, and return more money to the
>3) What is the breakdown of the costs of cookies
This is off the top of my head (but I'm sure it is close) $0.40 - $0.50* to the
troop, $0.84 to the company, $1.16 - $1.26* to Council. The council money
is 50% of thier yearly budget. The incentive money comes out of the council
portion, but I'm not sure of the amount.
* If the council makes thier goal, the troops receive more money per box.
The amount increases to the maximum of $0.50 / box as the amount over goal
increases. NOTE - in the eight years I have been with this council they
have NEVER made thier goal.
