Mary Beth: I am a man, and an Explorer Post adult leader. Neither I, nor
BSA national, would allow my Explorers, be they male or female, to go on a
camping experience solely with an adult of the opposite sex. We require
that there be at least one adult of the same sex as youth participants, and
two adults minimum at all times.
By the way, the last thing on earth that I want or need is to be alone in
the woods with a teen age female (other, I suppose, than times in the past
with my daughter). It's not that I don't trust me, it is just that in this
day and age of increased attention to abusive situations, there are also
