Hello Scouters and Trainers in Particular -
I re-started Den Chief training in our small (smallest!) council this past
year. The only Den Chief training syllabus in print was pretty old and not
up to today's syllabi standards.
Does anyone have some good experience or resources with this training topic
that they could share?
BTW, when we did ours last Fall, I designed it to include both the Den
Leader and the Den Chief. We had some combined sessions, where the "team"
could hear and discuss together the role of the Den Chief, characteristics
of CS age boys, etc. We also had split sessions, so the adults could talk
about the characteristics of Scout age boys, and the Den Chiefs could
review some leadership principles.
There might be general interest for this on Scouts-L, but if you have a lot
to pass along, it might be best to send it to me directly -
firstname.lastname@example.org. I promise to collect any answers to put them back on
the list or to pass them along to any requestor.
