Why shouldn't you trust him?
The Scout Law says "A Scout's Honour is to be trusted" (this is how BP
stated it, I know most countries have now a different wording, but the
concept is the same worldwide).
Mind you, I'm not saying that on day one of a joint troop you
shouldn't expect trouble - there will probably be - but in the long
run that's not a real problem.
