I haven't seen many Girl Scout posts lately, so I will fill you all in our
Service Unit activities!
Thinking Day: We had a Time Travel Adventure for our Service Unit. The Girls
were dicided up into about 5 groups and they rotated each group....the Time
travel units included: 50's Craft = making a megaphone; Medieval Times = Games
; 1800's = western dress up and group photo; Egyptian = Learning a Dance;
Dinosaur Time = question and answer game; and a Victorian High Tea for
It was a truly wonderful event. The chairmen dressed up in appropriate
costume and the girls all met in the center of the room around a TIME
Machine..which was actually a clock shop. They travelled around the room and
then met back at the clock shop. This event took some planning, but it was
well attended by about 80 Daisy's, Brownies and Juniors from our SErvice
Be Your Best Day!...We signed up our Mayor and he will be wearing his pin
today and to the City Council meeting tonight. Photo in the paper, too. Our
SErvice Unit also worked at our Community Recycling Center on Saturday.
Parents came to help, too.
Father/Daughter Banquet is this Saturday and we will have close to 400 people
there. We cater in Chicken and it takes a while to feed everyone. Each troop
decorates their own table, placemats, nametags, nutcups, etc. Each troop does
a small skit on a little stage. We have started to combine the troops into
schools because the entertainment was going on FOREVER! (3 grade schools, 1
