I didn't mean for it to sound like a lecture, but I have received many
useful ideas from this list. (Sometimes I have to substitute flower where
ever you see arrow, and girl where you see boy.) :-)

This sounds neat, but I'm curious how many non-active scouters showed up.
What would entice them? Unless they've always had a desire to be involved
and just didn't know how.
I really like the way boy scouts use merit badge counselors. Sometimes I
think (at least with the older girls), how can I show them any more about
this---it is beyond my means. It can be very difficult to get
professionals to help for the cadette IP's. Some are so involved and
would take many meetings to accomplish. Being they are so career
oriented (lots say the girl has to interview someone in that field),
counselors would be a great hands-on help!

I'll have to sniff around at my next council meeting and see what I can
find out about this alumni stuff locally.

I think we can use many advisors, they don't all have to be leaders. Most
of them seem to feel that is the only way to be involved. Wouldn't it be
great to have a list of past GS at service unit level that you could call
on for expertise in different fields to halp with badge work!

Let me know what else you find out.
